Chi Nei Tsang is the ancient art of internal organ massage practised and perfected by the Chinese Taoists. North America was introduced to this wonderful healing modality in the mid – 1980’s. Chi refers to energy and information. It is also called Prana, Mana, or various other names depending on the country of origin of the name. Nei Tsang refers to the internal organs.
Chi Nei Tsang is an powerful yet gentle manipulation of the abdomen, in conjunction with breath & energy. Energy & breath are used to bring awareness of deeply held tension in the body. This tension may be found in the digestion, respiratory, cardio-vascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary and reproductive systems, as well as the muscular system.
Chi Nei Tsang makes use of the energy flow of all the body’s systems. Using Chi Nei Tsang allows the tissues to relax, and relaxed tissues are able to heal.
As the energy flow in the client’s body moves more freely, balance is restored, toxicity is released and overall health & well being in all areas – physical mental, emotional and spiritual—is improved. Many emotional issues are held in the digestive system – some examples — the sayings “that is hard to swallow”, “the gall of that person” are examples of our unconscious understanding of this.
By releasing the tensions held in the abdominal area, these emotions are able to be released in the safety of the practioner’s office, where they can be dealt with in a productive manner. Therefore Chi Nei Tsang is also a system of personal development and spiritual awareness. Self empowerment is nurtured, and expanded.
Some of the other issues that are greatly helped are:
- Proper elimination of food waste — constipation and diarrhea
- Bowel problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome & Chrohns disease
- Scar tissue treatment after surgery
- The immune system is also greatly strengthened and the vitiality of the client improves
I perform this treatment in two ways
- Hands on treatments can be booked for people and small pets (dogs and cats)
- Energetic treatments can be booked for large animals (horses) and animals and people that are not able to come for hands on treatment.
Hands on treatments are done with the client clothed, and laying on a massage table. The stomach is exposed, and then the client is helped to breathe deeply. As the person becomes more relaxed from the deep breathing, Rhea is then able to explore the abdomen finding any tensions in the tissues – including muscles, organs, and all the body’s systems. This work is done below the ribs, & above the pubic bone. It takes about 60 to 75 minutes.
